Web Server Migration

We will be migrating all web servers between IP ranges on Monday 7th July 2008. This will result in a period of downtime of approximately 4 hours when you will be unable to access your website. During this scheduled maintenance anyone visiting your website will see a generic ‘website unavailable due to essential maintenance’ page.

This work specifically impacts upon Websites, all other services we provide including email will not be impacted by this work.

If you experience difficulties accessing your website for longer than 4 hours please ensure that you restart your Broadband router and computer to ensure that you are not using cached DNS records.

The migration outage will occur in the window 09:00 to 13:00 on Monday 7th July 2008.

Mail Server Migration

We will be migrating mail servers between IP ranges this weekend. This will result in a period of downtime of approximately 1 hour when you will be unable to send or receive email. During this scheduled downtime inbound mail will be queued on our secondary MX servers.

If you experience difficulties accessing your email for longer than 1 hour please ensure that you restart your Broadband router and computer to ensure that you are not using cached DNS records.

Please note this does not impact customers that use our inbound and outbound mail hosting packages (eg. where we deliver mail direct to your mail server).

The migration outage will occur in the window 22:00 28/06/2008 to 02:00 29/06/2008.

Web Server Maintenance

We will be completing a period of maintenance on a selection of our webservers between 13:00 and 17:00 today. This will result in a short period of downtime for each server within this window, it is estimated to be no longer than 15 minutes.

Server Patching

We will be performing routine server patching until 06:00 this morning. During this period you may experience a short period (circa 5 minutes) where you cannot access your website or email. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenienced caused by this important work.

Mail system connectivity

We are currently experiencing intermittent connectivity to mail serivces including SMTP, POP3, IMAP and webmail services delivered via the ‘new’ platform. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

No mail will be lost as a result of this issue, it will instead be stored on our offsite secondary Mail server.

External Connectivity 'at risk' 08:00 – 08:15 (24/6/2007)

We have been by our upstream provider that work being conducted on their network may result in a short loss of connectivity between 08:00 and 08:15 BST tomorrow (24/6/2007). They advise us that this essential work should result in a loss lasting no more than a few minutes within this timeframe.

Planned DataCentre Power Works (downtime)

Remedial electrical work needs to be conducted to ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of our systems including the replacement and testing of upstream MCCB’s on the electrical system which have previously incorrectly tripped.

This work is scheduled to take place within a one hour maintenance window between 05:00 and 05:59 on Thursday, 14th June 2007.  We expect one short disruption to the power supply lasting up-to 30 minutes.

All servers will be shutdown at 05:00 in preparation for the work and should be back online by 06:00. During this normal services will be inaccessible. Inbound mail will be queued on our ‘off network’ backup MX.

The Status Website (http://status.yorknetworks.com) will be visible throughout the maintenance/downtime window.

Switch

We experienced an issue with a switch early this afternoon that impacted upon the ability to access certain mail servers, webservers and the control panel server. This issue was resolved within 45 minutes and has now been running without issue.
