Web Server Migration

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

We will be migrating all web servers between IP ranges on Monday 7th July 2008. This will result in a period of downtime of approximately 4 hours when you will be unable to access your website. During this scheduled maintenance anyone visiting your website will see a generic ‘website unavailable due to essential maintenance’ page.

This work specifically impacts upon Websites, all other services we provide including email will not be impacted by this work.

If you experience difficulties accessing your website for longer than 4 hours please ensure that you restart your Broadband router and computer to ensure that you are not using cached DNS records.

The migration outage will occur in the window 09:00 to 13:00 on Monday 7th July 2008.

We will be migrating mail servers between IP ranges this weekend. This will result in a period of downtime of approximately 1 hour when you will be unable to send or receive email. During this scheduled downtime inbound mail will be queued on our secondary MX servers.

If you experience difficulties accessing your email for longer than 1 hour please ensure that you restart your Broadband router and computer to ensure that you are not using cached DNS records.

Please note this does not impact customers that use our inbound and outbound mail hosting packages (eg. where we deliver mail direct to your mail server).

Planned Datacentre work/downtime

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

To enable essential maintenance work to be completed at the data centre there will be an outage of approximately 1 hour between 07:00 and 08:00 on Tuesday 2nd January 2007. We anticipate that the downtime will be less than the declared 1 hour window but as a precaution we are declaring an ‘at risk’ window between 06:55 and 09:00 where access to services may be intermittent.

This planned downtime will enable us to complete a number of essential maintenance tasks and in addition will provide the opportunity to introduce additional Dell Poweredge servers in to the server farm and network switches.

This work will impact upon all services except Dialup and Broadband Internet access as they are provisioned seperately.
